Outbound Email
Configure how Relay sends email replies to customers.
Default Setup
Relay uses Resend for email delivery by default:
- High deliverability
- Automatic tracking
- No configuration needed
Email Appearance
From Name
Set the sender name:
- "Company Support"
- "Agent Name at Company"
- Custom per-agent
From Address
Configure reply-from address:
- support@yourcompany.com
- Custom per-team
Signature
Add signatures to outgoing emails:
- Go to Settings → Email → Signatures
- Create signature template
- Use variables: {{agent.name}}, {{agent.title}}

Email Wrapper
Customize the email template:
- Header with logo
- Footer with links
- Consistent branding
HTML vs Plain Text
Relay sends both versions:
- HTML for rich formatting
- Plain text for compatibility
Tracking
Delivery Status
Track email status:
- Sent
- Delivered
- Bounced
- Opened (if enabled)
Bounce Handling
When emails bounce:
- Customer notified in ticket
- Retry logic applied
- Alert for permanent failures
Custom SMTP
When to Use
Send from your own servers for:
- Specific domain requirements
- Compliance needs
- Custom tracking
Configuration
- Go to Settings → Email → Outbound
- Select "Custom SMTP"
- Enter server details:
- SMTP host
- Port
- Username/password
- Encryption type
- Test delivery
